Community Health Discussion 2

The community in which you grew up is dealing with a community-wide substance abuse
problem among youth (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or drugs). You would like to create a
coalition to tackle and eradicate this problem.

GENERATE a list of 5 local agencies (from the community where you grew up) that you would
invite to your coalition.

Orange Youth Academy Substance Abuse (OYA)

therapy

- is a partnership between Orange County Public Schools and Aspire Health Partners
designed for students who have received a Level 4 discipline infraction (for substance use
and /or possession of paraphernalia).

 Juvenile Addiction Receiving Facility (JARF)


- Community based program
- designed to assist with substance abuse impaired juveniles, ages 12-17. The program's
goal is to provide a secure environment for detoxification, stabilization and assessment.

Tobacco Free Orange County
-  help smokers quit, prevent youth from starting the use of tobacco, and protect everyone
from second-hand smoke.
