WELFARE DEPARTMENT

As it is evident throughout the scriptures, the lord has established some type of welfare program
in every dispensation. In the early days of this, the saints were given opportunities to leave the
law of consecration and were organized into what was known as the united order.

The welfare department is responsible for the needs of the people in the church both spiritual and
material Mathew 25:35 I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me a
drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.

The bible has taught us to be doers of the word and be our brother’s keeper. Galatians 6:2- Bear
one another burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. It is our church culture to fellowship with
one another with our gifts and resources.Deutr 15:7-11;

Description aims and objectives

a) To make a difference in people’s lives through personal contact and visitation.

b) To go the extra mile to touch and leave our heartprineof love, kindness, and genuine
concern in the lives of church members and their families :(John 14-123b)
c) To follow the sick, the immobile, pray for them and offer practical help.
d) To reach out and comfort believers in need in the C.U
e) To provide spiritual and emotional care to individuals facing crisis or loss.

ACHIEVEMENT
Visited Murang’a children rescue Centre in the beginning of the year 2020. This was before the
Covid 19 pandemic struck the nation. It was a pleasure to extend or support to the needy
children, by the Grace of God, we became a blessing to the Centre through all types of gifts and
more so having fun moment with the kids there.

However, due to the Covid 19 protocol, such an activity has not happened of late. But due to the
dynamic yet unchanging nature of God we encourage members to extend hands of blessings to
all needy people they come across along, they are in position of doing so. This is in the school, in
their home and the community at large.

Away from this, we are directed by God to expand the welfare department so as to be able to
cater even for the ministries in the services and hold weekend challenges.

To avoid bringing shame to the body of Christ, we were clearly instructed to purchase unions,
full set utensils. This started last term with the form four members of the committee. We are
halfway on the project and the achieve items have been highlighted on the achievements section.
