SEARCH ENGINE.

If we already know the address of a website, or its URL, we can simply type it, otherwise we need a search
engine. A search engine is a website that helps you search for other websites.

It is a type of software that creates indexes of databases or Internet sites based on the title of the files, the
keywords or the complete text of the files. It has an interface that allows you to type what we are looking
for in an empty field. Then it provides a list of the search results.

When the search engine is used on the web, the results are presented in a hypertext, which means we can
click on any item in the list to get the actual file.

WIKI WIKI

A wiki is a server program that allows users to collaborate in forming the content of a website. The term
comes from the word wikiwiki, which means fast in the Hawaiian language. A wiki provides a simplified
interface, in fact it is not necessary to know HTML. A wiki website works on a collaborative trust principle.

The simplest wiki programs with users to create and edit content. More advanced wikis have a
management component that allows a designated person to accept or reject changes.

The content of a wiki is written by users and anyone can change pages or create new pages. The very first
wiki was Wiki Wiki Web, a website and software created the Portland Pattern Repository.

The best known example of a wiki website is Wikipedia, which is now the fifth most visited website. It was
launched on January 15, 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sangerland.
