Dear Sir,

Secretary General.

I'm writing to express my opinion about modern technology and its implications on the
environment. I want to highlight the technological advance and the effects it has had on the
environment.

It is not a secret to anyone that technological advances have generated significant benefits
for the environment, but I believe that there are more negative than positive effects, over
time, looking for the growth and development of the population, the ecosystem of man,
plants and animals has been modified for creation of roads and rapid urbanization. The air
has been highly polluted by means of transport, companies and rising levels of
consumption. The last one being the biggest cause of global warming, which has been
always increased in the highest levels by the developing countries, also the great
technological development that has been taking place due to the human being's ambition to
achieve power and wealth has not allowed him to stop and think about the consequences
that are going to occur.

Their desire to streamline production processes, the excessive use of natural resources and
consumerism are factors that destroy the environment, because it has generated
deforestation and air, soil, water and atmosphere pollution also it has even caused a
decrease in the biodiversity.

Technological advances have also contributed to climate change due to the production of
polluting fog generated by large factories in their pursuit of industrial growth, I recommend
that governments and the united nations take actions and create new policies to obligate the
large companies to have eco-friendly industrial processes and technology in their
production and if necessary, fines should be imposed on those companies and governments
that do not comply because now there are many new technologies and processes,such as
digital technologies this has allowed the reduction of the use of paper, leading to the
reduction of deforestation, production of renewable electricity and automobiles that reduce
air pollution, but many refuse to change the way they work, regardless of the damage they
cause.

I know that not everything about technology is wrong ,they are also found positive things
for the environment like; online campaign to avoid the use of paper the creation and use of
alternative energy source, new means of transportation without use of gasoline and many
other green technologies that care and respect the environment and I wish that green
technologies to be much more popular accepted and developed by large companies and
states, but for this you must encourage and support these new alternatives.
