Task 2

*Discuss the concept of Polya's Problem-Solving Strategy in 100 words.

Answer:

Polya's problem solving strategy was studied by George Polya, a mathematician. It has 4 steps;
first, understand the problem; second, devise a plan; third, carry out the plan; and lastly, review the
solution. First, we have to pay particular attention to the problem and analyze it. Second, we have to
write down list of procedures and techniques to be able to solve the problem correctly. Third, we have
to work what we plan to see if it will be accurate and successful. Lastly, we have to review the solution,
make sure that there are no errors, and it is right.

Task 3

Post-Reading Reflection

1. How are differentiation strategies for English language learners similar to differentiation strategies for
below-grade level students?

Answer:

English language learners and below-grade level students are both in the same level that's why
the strategies are similar and almost all of it are the same. They both have the same level of learners.

2. List three ways you can differentiate mathematics instruction for students who are performing above
grade level.

Answer:

* I will assign only the most difficult problems.

* I will let the learners have an oral presentation of the concepts which can also benefit all
students in the classroom.

* I will let students create games for practicing concepts and skills.

Task 4
* Create and discuss a situation in which as a teacher, you use an inquiry-based learning strategy. Use a
minimum of 300 words.

Answer:

Since I am the current Art Teacher of Grade 5 pupils, I decided to let them make an activity. I
told them to roam around the school and find things whether it be leaves, rocks, stems, plastics, and etc.
that they can use to make an artwork. They will only use the things they found and picked outside and
they are not allowed to use crayons or anything they have in their bags except the glue and the tape.
They can create anything as long as it do not show any disrespect. After that, they will stand in front of
the class, show their work, and explain it. Not everyone is creative and artistic but whatever their
artwork will be, I will gladly appreciate it and I will also teach them to appreciate each other's work. The
purpose of this activity is for them to learn how to appreciate and love things that may look and seem
useless to many people. I let them dot his activity because I want them to learn how to value or give
importance to the things that other people see as trash and worthless. This activity will help them
realize that everything around us is significant and essential if we just give attention to it. It will also help
them to be vigilant, mindful to our surroundings, and to be creative in many ways. They are already
Grade 5 students/pupils, so they are ready to start embracing realizations and they are ready to
understand that even trash can be meaningful and useful. I am expecting that they will be confused and
will have many questions but I'm ready to answer all of them. In that way, they will learn, they will
analyze, they will think, and they will be thirsty to receive an answer to their questions.
