DIR Command:

The DIR command displays directory of files and directories stored on disk. In addition to files
and directories, DIR also displays both the volume name and amount of free storage space on the
disk (if there are files stored in the current directory).

Example:

We can use the DIR command by itself (just type “dir” at the Command Prompt) to list the files
and folders in the current directory. To extend that functionality, you need to use the various
switches, or options, associated with the command
