Midpoint of a straight line

The midpoint is halfway between the two end points: Its x value is halfway between the
two x values. Its y value is halfway between the two y values.

The coordinates of the mid-point of the straight- line AB.

To find the midpoint of any two numbers, find the average of those two numbers by
adding them together and dividing by 2.
Formula:
(x1 + x2)/2, (y1 + y2)/2

The midpoint rule approximates the area between the graph of f(x) and the x-axis by summing the areas
of rectangles with midpoints that are points on f(x).
Examples:
i) Given, (x1, y1) = (-3, 5)
(x2, y2) = (8, -1)
Use the formula:

M = ( xA+xB/2 , yA+yB/2 )

M = ((−3) +8/2, 5+(−1)/2)

M = (5/2, 4/2)
M = (2.5, 2)

ii) Given, (x1, y1) = (4, 5)

(x2, y2) = (6, 7)
According to the formula we can find the midpoint (x, y):
(x, y) = [(x1 + x2)/2, (y1 + y2)/2]
(x, y) = [(4 + 6)/2, (5 + 7)/2]
= (5, 6)
