Answers:
1. There are many things around us such as friends, trees, animals, soils, water, air,
sunlight and houses. All the things surrounding us make our environment.
2. The five components of a natural environment are- trees, hills, flower, river and soil.
3. We live in both natural and man made environment.
4. People, animals, plants are living things which can grow, change. Cars, chairs, table,
books are type of non living things which can’t eat, drink, grow.
5. A plant that does not bear flowers is called a non- flowering plant.
6. A plant that has flowers is called a flowering plant.
7. Plants such as paddy, musturd and chilli are called herbs. A herb is smaller than a shrub
and have soft stems.
8. Plants such as Rose, Rongon and Hibiscus are shrubs. A shrub is a woody plant, smaller
than a tree.
9. A plant which is large in size with a woody main stem and with branches, leaves is called
a tree.
10. Animals without backbone are called invertebrate. Example- earthworm, shrimp etc.
11. An animal that has a backbone is called a vertebrate. Example – snakes, frogs etc.
12. The things which have weight and volume and occupy space are called matters.
13. Steam is made of water.
14. The three forms of water are- water vapour, liquid water and ice.
15. The name of five liquids are- water, milk, oil, juice, tea.
