Outer space is considered as the final frontier.

The next stage on human evolution and the answer to the

question if we are alone or not. While on the one hand we have people considering space travel
something that needs to be done, on the other hand, we have people who think that an enterprise of
this magnitude is nothing more than a complete waste of resources, and those are better spent here on
Earth, rather than on other planets.

On one side, why should we conquer the stars? One of the reasons for this is to survive as a specie.
Earth has limited resources and population is increasing rapidly, therefore It is critical either to
implement a planned parenthood system worldwide or to seek for another world to live in.
Encountering other hospitable planets may allow humanity as a specie to thrive or even we could find
new materials and elements which may speed up our technological advance.

On the other side, there is also a solid argument for stop funding space travel. As mentioned before,
Earth has only so many resources and to fund a space career means not spending it on Earth’s
population. Pollution is one of the biggest issues on developed countries and there have been enormous
amounts of resources destined to fight it, therefore, funding a space career would probably mean taking
some of this need resources and funding an off-planet project.

Reaching the stars has been one of the dreams of many kids and adults over the years and probably will
be a reality in the years to come. Nowadays there is one known private project, an off-planet hotel
which is bound to be open on 2027; this project may give us insight on how humanity may fare off-
world. Nevertheless, it would be better for this dream to be completed when Earth’s population is ready
as a whole and not as a desperate attempt to leave the planet as is drawing its last breath.
