Some kind of other worldly creepine ss is what the Danish producer brings to "The Answer" which, as the original s t itle might suggest, is actually rather resolved and sunny in its original outloo k. Not so here—synths flutter like distant wind chimes in coming storm winds, coal chamber deep sick sounding sighs provide punctuation, guitars wail like nervous sweaty horses.. ‘The Answer’ EP includes two new songs, a collaboration with hip-hop prodigy Lupe Fi asco and a remix by the original UNKLE member Tim Goldsworthy. You can Pre-order ‘The Answer’ EP limited edition 12” vinyl and limited edition CD at unkle.com/shop. In support of the release of The Answer EP, UNKLE will be embarking on their ver y first US appearances in several years at select cities in the US and Mexico du ring October. Pre-sale tickets available via unkle.com starting Wednesday, Aug 18 at 12 pm EST. General public on sale is Friday, August 20 at 12 pm EST. The latest hip-hop reworking of ‘The Runaway’ off UNKLE’s most recent album ‘Where Did T he Night Fall’ sees Lupe Fiasco rhyming with an untouchable, laid-back cool as spl intered synthesizers and a shuddering bass-line envelope around him. Original UN KLE member, Tim Goldsworthy (from LCD Soundsystem/DFA), morphs the subtle and d esert-scorched previous single ‘Follow Me Down’ into a breathless, urgent 8-minute e pic. The very cinematic ‘Separate Half’ features San Francisco quartet Lumerians wit h vocals by Rebecca Coseboom. Pulsating and airy, ‘Separate Half’ takes listeners on a nice journey passing through kaleidoscope worlds. The quiet, dusty lament of ‘C ountry Tune’ builds to become vast and very expansive in scope, anchored by the fr agile vocal from UNKLE collaborator Gavin Clark. ‘The Answer’ EP has been a catalyst for inspiring a variety of high profile and crea tive artists to make beautiful works of art, video, fashion which will also be e xhibited at James Lavelle’s pop-up art exhibition ‘Daydreaming with James Lavelle’ at the Haunch Of Venison gallery in London, 27 – 30 August. To accompany the release of ‘The Answer’ EP, UNKLE unveil two new music videos. The acclaimed film director John Hillcoat, directs the first of two videos for ‘Th e Answer’. His vision begins with Ray Winstone relaying a vivant memory from years past. It is a provocative anecdote and an intimate snapshot of an event that ap parently changed the actor’s life. All wrapped up in the all-encompassing reach of the song, a kaleidoscopic slide show screens a series of fantastical and psych edelic images, some bleached and distorted, some drenched in colours, and all th is happens whilst Winstone narrates. The second video is by Ross Cairns and features footage from the Relentless ‘Lives Of The Artists’ documentaries of legendary snowboard free-riders Jeremy Jones and Xavier De Le Rue.
