U.S.? When did the U.S. get independence from Great Britain? How did our flag look
then compared to now?
3. People, Places, and Environments: Who were Louis and Clark? Who was
Sacajawea? Who was Christopher Columbus? Who were the pilgrims and the Native
Americans?
4. Individual Development and Identity: What is your family’s heritage?
5. Individuals, Groups, and Institutions: Does your family have any traditions? If so,
what are they?
6. Power, Authority, and Governance: What was our first form of government? What
type of government do we have today compared to the beginning?
7. Production, Distribution, and Consumption: What did they eat at Thanksgiving?
What goods did we transfer?
8. Science, Technology, and Society: What type of society did the early U.S. have?
Did the U.S. have cars in this age? Was science valued over religion at this time?
9. Global Connections: What did our lifestyles look like compared to other countries’ at
this time? Did other countries have Thanksgiving?
10. Civic Ideals and Practices: Was voting practiced in the early U.S.? What
happened to the Native Americans? What were the social norms at this time?
