● Artificial intelligence is the simulation of

human intelligence from a device. It is
Artificial artificial and works by the use of analysing
Intelligence data on a mass scale, or a database, and
then producing different answers.

● But, where it could be used? Well, A.I is

used in many things, for example, home
assistants, and more importantly, it’s used
to tailor different types of content towards
us, but we’ll get onto that later.

● By the year 2030, the A.I market could be

worth up to $15.7 trillion globally, just
going to show the heights it could reach if
it isn’t already.

NotCo. There are some common examples of the use of A.I however
NotCo sets itself apart from any other as it uses A.I in a way no one
else does, and it is truly revolutionary.

So...NotCo, how can it be any different to a regular vegan food

producer? This is how. NotCo uses A.I to read up the chemicals which
any food is made up of, that’s right, whether it’s that juicy chicken
burger or that original glazed Krispy Kreme donut, NotCo’s A.I can
analyse and find out exactly which chemical substances make up the
food. Once it has done this, it aims to find organic foods which
produce the exact same chemical formula and then result in a data
sheet of what organic foods, containing the same chemicals as the
original product, will make a replica of that non-vegan product and
allow you to then recreate a vegan replica. Sound pretty advanced if I
don’t say so myself. NotCo is part of a growing future of the uses of
technology and how it can help us and the environment. They could be
our answer to getting rid of meat consumption and saving our planet.
○5○
Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our Well to be entirely honest, A.I could be both good and bad for the future.
On one hand, A.I could be brilliant as it will automate many repetitive
Future? tasks and even make our lives easier, which it sort of already is doing,
and A.I could heavily remove the need to pay labourers to do simple,
admin tasks. This is where the issue lies. If A.I removes the need to
having to do repetitive tasks, referring to many occupations, that would
also mean you’ll have a lot of people who’ll no longer be able to get a
job. And if you think this isn’t something to worry about in the creative
industry, you would be wrong. OpenAI already has source code available
which is able to write out a short film sequence using A.I. More so, there
are even A.I artists creating work with the mechanics of a robot and the
mind of A.I. This is a growing industry with no intention or means of
stopping, A.I will undoubtedly change our lives to a point
incomprehensible, it's just a matter of when. The future of artificial
intelligence is among us and it will change our lives forever, especially
○6○ when there's the likes of Facebook, Google and Microsoft working on it.

various factors to then produce an
Algorithms outcome. It can look at engagement, niche
and the success of certain media.

● Algorithms are used on social media to

Social media. Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or YouTube,
algorithms tailor all sorts of content to us based on our interests and
the success of the media being recommended.

Social media is one of the best examples of the use of algorithms as

they are known to be the most precise and intuitive. Take for
example...YouTube. YouTube is a growing source of entertainment, it
is said to be valued at over $15 billion and one of the ways it’s keeping
people engaged is by constantly offering them fresh, enjoyable
content. The workings of the algorithm have not been specified,
however we do know that most of it works off of factoring interests,
video interaction, age, location, how long viewers on a video stay
engaged and many more unknown factors. This tells us the more
engaging a video, the more YouTube will push it out and therefore
more advertising points, therefore generating higher revenue. This is
seen across most social media platforms showing how capable
algorithms are over controlling what we see on social media.

Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our
Algorithms are one of the most incredible developments we’ve made in
the last two decades as they continue to grow smarter and better. But it

Future?
often raises the question of, what does this algorithm actually look at?
If you’re not already aware, algorithms use data on a mass scale as
part of influencing a certain result. Some people feel with how accurate
these algorithms are that the data collection must be immense and
therefore algorithms receive heavy amounts of controversy due to its
alleged excessive data consumption. Another thing is that the
algorithms can often drown out quality and originality and someone
with higher interactions will top the feed leaving no space for new
people. Algorithms are good in the sense that they help people grow
and create platforms but bad for its data usage. This isn’t likely to stop
the use of them though as one of the leading reasons for social
media’s success is how you have different content delivered to you,
evident by the recent spike in TikTok. Algorithms are an optimisation
○9○ tool for the iot and they’ll continue to get smarter and smarter.

● Autonomous activity refers to activity

being done without human control. In
Autonomous today's society autonomous technology is
Activity growing, but only steadily, not to take away
that it’s being worked on by companies
such as Tesla.

● Autonomous activity could be self-driving

cars or even self-piloting drones, and if you
want to get a little more dangerous, a
self-driving taxi.

● By the year 2030, the autonomous activity

industry is said to become valued at near

DJI. The leading manufacturer of drone technology. They continue to
innovate with their new products and create even better drones. But
how are they innovating in the autonomous drone piloting space?

DJI is a multi-billion dollar company held by an infrastructure

unmatchable by any other drone company. It is reported they are
responsible for well over 77% of the market in the U.S alone just
showing the success of the company. So, drones are controlled via
remote, a special type of remote, but could that be changed through
automatic flight? This is exactly what DJI are trying to achieve, as well
as lucrative company-Amazon, who are trying to get deliveries done
through the use of autonomous drone technology, it is unconfirmed
whether it will likely continue due to privacy regulations. But back to
DJI. DJI have already released some autonomous drone equipment
however it isn’t there just yet. Predictions lay that the technology
should be perfected within the coming years, it is just in its infancy.
This technology could change the production and delivery industry.
○ 11 ○
Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our Autonomous technology will always be a tricky one, many people fear

Future? disastrous results in the use of autonomous technology, for example

cars, not everyone can trust a car not in the control of a human. This
technology could be considered still in its early days but that does not
mean the tech industry isn’t working on it. Tesla has already
implemented an A.I chip into the cars of every Tesla in order for the
system to learn about navigating through cities and Amazon have
launched the testing campaigns for their drone. All this shows how far
this technology could be in the future. For our future though, this could
mean a number of things. We could have self-driving taxis, drone
deliveries meaning the fastest possible delivery times and more. It’ll be
interesting to see where this goes however the limitations do lie heavy
in the current time with the views on how they’ll be controlled, but make
no mistake, this market will be something to look at in the future if it
○ 12 ○ isn’t already. A driverless car may be a possibility within the future.

● The use of augmented reality, or AR, could

be in medical professions, educational

● By the year 2030, the augmented reality

market is said to become valued at over
$1.4 trillion, many of the developments to
the technology are taking place today with
companies like Apple and Microsoft
pioneering in the space.

○ 13 ○

Microsoft. When it comes to AR, Microsoft have always been one step
Case
ahead knowing how far the market potential could grow for AR and
within recent years, they’ve truly been innovating so much so that even Study...
the U.S military are wanting a piece of the pie.

Microsoft is one of the most successful companies in the world and it

doesn’t fail to expand itself any further because when Microsoft sees
potential, they’re right on it. Microsoft believes the technology has
potential to do something miraculous, they feel it can be used as an
educational tool. Do you know in movies when that spy is swiping those
techy-looking blue visuals? Well, Microsoft is basically trying to recreate
that but in a realistic way and to train individuals in different professions
therefore allowing them to be higher skilled. For example, a person in a
medical profession. Microsoft thinks, and sort of already have done,
they could use AR to display elements for the trainee to see and then
use as guidance. They’re aiming for this to be of use to many people,
particularly those learning. This is one step into the future of improving
healthcare and more with modern day technology.
○ 14 ○
Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our AR offers nothing but benefits for our future lives. It only adds what it
offers in a good way. If it hasn’t been demonstrated already, AR can help
Future? improve healthcare, a growing concern of how we’re going to handle it in
the future with a rapidly increasing population as it means we’ll need more
doctors, nurses, etc. We don’t just need people in those professions, we
need them to be able to help everyday people like you and me, cue AR
technology. If we can get AR to where we need it to be, medical trainees
and professionals will be more skilled, better experienced and will allow
for advancements through other sectors of our growing economy. The U.S
military has already ratified a deal to give them access to over $20 billion
dollars worth of AR headsets to use as assistant to soldiers. This truly
does show that AR is going to help our future society become more
experienced, knowledgeable and aware. Further evident by industry
leaders such as Google, Microsoft and Apple are working on it. The
technology still has some way to go, but estimates show that the
○ 15 ○ technology will definitely be of very much benefit to future societies.

Cryptocurrency as a means of exchange for goods and

● Cryptocurrency is used as a means of

as an asset. Within recent years, the crypto
space has exploded and is starting to

Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the leading crypto asset as of yet. It carries most of the
Case
market cap of cryptocurrency being calculated at $1 trillion. BTC is just a
type of crypto, an asset, there are many cryptocurrencies just as there are Study...
many currencies in the world. Bitcoin is most revolutionary.

Bitcoin leads and dominates the space by a mile. The reason this is going
further ahead is because not only is it being constantly exposed and noticed,
it is becoming institutionally adopted and seen as a real medium of
exchange. Right now, BTC is valued at over $50,000 and continues to grow.
BTC is being seen as something of the future and tech which is going to help
develop our society;it aims to decentralise all currency, because that’s what
crypto does, it decentralises currency from middle-men, banks and
governing bodies. The question it often raises is, how is this managed? Well,
that is solved with a clever technology called blockchain. Basically, the
blockchain verifies each ownership of any crypto through ledgers and other
more complicated sequencing, meaning it’s held very securely but by no
person in particular. This allows there to be trust between exchanges but no
one gaining profit over another. This is how ‘money’ will work in the future.
○ 17 ○
Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our Cryptocurrency is revolutionising the way money works, the technological
revolution has already begun, however, in the future, crypto is going to be
Future? the norm of currency, it will be the way we exchange, securely, fast and
privately, all the benefits of crypto. Its decentralisation is core to a growing
community of people who are becoming more and more concerned over
their privacy, monopolism in the real world and how what they do now will
shape the way our future goes. One of the fundamentals of cryptocurrency
is its backbone, the blockchain. The blockchain is a growing, complex
advancement which isn’t just in use for crypto but also for a way to protect
creative work, NFT’s for example. There is one bad side to this revolution
of digital currency, environmental impacts. To run crypto, there’s a lot of
computation, therefore electricity use then leaving a carbon footprint, a
massive one too. Crypto will help create a more honest society, where
everything will be validated not by an individual, but by a whole lot of them.
This communal protection is what encrypts transactions and removes

AWS are the pioneers of the cloud computing industry, backed by their

cloud servicing offers an infrastructure for companies to deliver media to
consumers through their servers, removing the expenses of owning your

unmatchable by the competitors within the market. AWS isn’t just helping
companies though, they’re being used by governments, schools and even
charities. With the use of AWS across different sectors, AWS is without a

which sets them aside is the fact that they are achieving to become as
green as possible and to remove the environmental impacts cloud servicing
has. AWS is innovating in the space and remains a dominant competitor.

What About
Our Cloud computing is already changing our lives on the internet, when we scroll
through social media not a single bit of data is stored in order for us to see
Future? anything, it can all stay on a server for you to view when you like. But social
media isn’t the only use of cloud computing. We can hold digital meetings, store
things online, and more, all thanks to the cloud. It removes the need for anything
physical. Cloud computing comes with a lot of benefits but that's not to neglect
the negatives. First off, the environmental impacts are immense;with the
amount of computation required, those servers are taking in energy 24/7, 365.
Next, the issue of security and privacy. Many people feel their privacy may be
disregarded if everything went cloud because they believe the data being in a
secluded location puts their information at risk. Although it is a valid point, data
centers are heavily secure with high-levels of security to prevent such cases.
Now the privacy issue. By privacy regulations your data should be secure, but
many people feel otherwise. We don’t know for sure, but it is likely our data is
safe and not being used against us. Either way, cloud computing is the future of
○ 21 ○ the iot and will continue to allow us to live our digital lives remotely.

Printing done entirely by a machine.

● Whilst 3D printing is yet to have gone

mainstream, it has seen some media hype.
3D printing allows you to print objects in
3D. For example, you could print a mug.

● It is estimated that by the year 2030 the 3D

printing industry could be worth well over

But seriously, for it what it could do for us,
3D printing may become a common

Stratasys. Stratasys has at been at the technical revolution since the very
Case
beginning, they’ve been doing this for over 30 years in counting with no sign
of stopping. They truly believe 3D printing could change the world, backed Study...
by the acceptance of other industry leaders. This is how they are
innovating.

Stratasys are changing industries one step at a time. At the moment,

alongside companies such as Ford and Audi, they’re involved in the 3D
printing of prototypes, some production parts and more. So why would 3D
printing be a solution? 3D printing significantly reduces cost as not only is it
efficient, it is automatic and requires considerably less materials. If they can
take this to an even bigger scale, they could be 3D printing everything,
whether its a keyboard or a part to a private jet. They are truly innovating as
their machinery is becoming more available, cheaper and more efficient. If
we all had access to 3D printing like Stratasys wants us to, we could reduce
costs of buying products easily printable by our very own 3D printer. This
industry is still at growing scale and companies like Stratasys are assisting
in this, who knows what we’ll be 3D printing in the future.
○ 23 ○
Tech Industry-Research Media

What About
Our 3D printers are still being developed as a technology but that’s not to take away
what there is. 3D printing is being used in all sorts of industries, like the ones

Future? reasons all these markets share for the use of 3D printing. Efficiency and
listed here:aerospace, automotive and even medical. And there’s two specific

expense. A single prototype doesn’t cost much, however when you weigh in
that a company has to do this several hundred times, it gets a little pricey. With
3D printing, it significantly reduces the amount of material needed and
therefore cost and not to mention efficiency. 3D printers do take time however
not as much. These are the pros of 3D printing and why they could help
markets grow by reducing expenses and creating time, now the negatives. Yet
again do we see another example of new technologies being introduced which
also bring about environmental impacts. 3D printers require heavy amounts of
energy of course meaning damage to the environment. 3D printers also pollute
heavily, adding to their carbon footstep. Whilst these negatives stand, the
technology isn't slowing and is developing rapidly, our future could be making
