Hlth 1240- Signature Assignment

Live Now
You exist now and now is all that is. Now is outside of time. There is no past in which you
were
incomplete, and there will never be a future in which you will become complete. Until you
accept that you can only exist in the present now, you will believe that fulfillment awaits
you
in an illusionary future if you take the proper actions. This belief destroys the experience
of
now and you continually live the illusion.
I always like to plan and prepare for future events. I find myself longing for the days to come and
then to pass, however I know I would probably feel more peace if I lived in the present. When
things don't go accordingly, I say "everything happens for a reason" so I let it pass. I say it
however it is hard to believe it, my goal is to be happy and be present. I think there is value in
appreciating time because although "we will never be aware of the future in the future" we are
aware of the past and what we have learned, experienced, and felt.

How to Create Change

There are three ways to create change in human beings:
1) Add something to life, such as new people, things, environment, or mental programming.
2) Subtract something, such as negative people, things, environment or mental
programming.
3) Allow the individual to be his or her true self, instead of what you expect them to be.

In my life many people have come and gone. There was a time where I spent a lot of time with
certain groups doing things that did not fit the person I wanted to be. I had to proactively remove
myself from that environment and I do not regret it. Once I removed myself it was hard not to
feel alone, but I knew it was better than bad company. I know friends reflect you as a person, and
I realized although they don't have bad intentions, I don't want to be who they are. Looking back,
it was the best decision for me, I like who I am now.

I chose two discussion pieces for my signature assignment as these two made me question and
appreciate my answers. Many times, we refrain ourselves from asking necessary questions such
as these, to reflect and go forward. If we aren’t questioning our choices and analyzing them for
future situations, then we can’t grow. These helped me appreciate my choices and reflect on
some bad habits I had or continue to do. I can say with confidence this course has helped me
with my mental growth.
