ADVANTAGES

 Requires few specialized on the part of teachers

 Grammar rules and translation tests are easy to construct and can be objectively scored.
 Standardized tests of FL do not attempt to test communicative abilities
 Grammar is understood easily.
 Learning grammar of a second language is contrasted to the grammar of the first language.

DISADVANTAGES

 Language learning experience uninspiring and boring

 Left the students with a sense of frustration when they travel to countries where English is spoken
 There is no opportunities to communicate
 Oral fluency is not emphasized
 Students don't improve their pronunciation
