JWE Nonfiction Bingo Directions
Let’s read some nonfiction, Wranglers! This reading challenge will push you to read
LOTS of amazing, awesome nonfiction topics.

Here’s how you play Nonfiction BINGO:

▪ Set a goal—How many points do you want to earn?
▪ Find and read nonfiction books on the BINGO board topics.
▪ Get a parent/teacher to sign each square as you read.
▪ Nonfiction books vary in length, so read the whole book (if it’s short), or you
can read a longer book for at least 30 minutes to get a square signed.
▪ Each square counts for ONE BOOK. (No double dipping!)
▪ BINGO boards may only be submitted only ONCE.

Here’s how to earn POINTS (Choose ONLY ONE option):

● Complete the FOUR CORNERS to get 5 POINTS
● Pick ANY FIVE SQUARES (not the free space) to earn 10 POINTS
● Any REGULAR BINGO (with the free space) to earn 10 POINTS
● Any REGULAR BINGO (not using the free space) to earn 15 POINTS
● Complete the PERIMETER to earn 50 POINTS!
● BLACKOUT your board to earn 100 points!

What can you get with points?

For 5 points – Give the class announcements and be class leader for one day
For 10 points – “Wear Slippers pass” or “No Shoes Pass” for a day at JWE
For 15 points – Wear a crazy hat one day at JWE
For 50 points – Wear your pajamas one day at JWE
For 100 points – Wear your PJ’s and your slippers, and eat lunch with our principal, Mrs. Bateman

If your WHOLE CLASS completes the Nonfiction Bingo board, everyone will earn 5
points! (Your teacher will prepare a WHOLE CLASS reward.)
Nonfiction Bingo Challenge Ends on December 4th! Bingo boards can start to be turned
in at the library on Monday, November 30th. You have 5 weeks to black out that
board!!! Get reading!
