1. Intestinal Preperation - to allow satisfactory visualization of the surgical site and to prevent
contamination of fecal matter.

2. Preoperative skin preperation - to decrease bacteria

3. Urinary Cathetherization - to promote visibility of anatomy and continence during lower abdominal
surgery.

4. Administering preoperative medications - To reduce the respiratory tract secretions and prevent or
treat the severe reflex slowing of the heart during anesthesia.

5. Transportation of patient to presurgical site - patient safety and comfort
