My name is Lindsey Friedrichsen, and I am currently a part-time elementary music educator at Sioux Valley Elementary in Volga, SD. I grew up on my family farm in rural Huron, SD and graduated with honors from Huron High School in 2015. Attending college at NSU, I became actively involved in the Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Early Music Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, and as a soloist with the Aberdeen University Civic Symphony. These activities provided multiple leadership opportunities during my college years. I am grateful for NAfME and ACDA for providing quality professional development experiences. Outside of music education, I served as the President of Collegians in Christ’s Service (CICS). My current part-time teaching position has provided me with multiple invaluable learning experiences. Multiple teaching opportunities have developed my professional practice at both the elementary and secondary levels. My passion for teaching and love of music education continues to grow. In addition to classroom teaching, I have enjoyed providing individual instruction in piano, voice, and a variety of band instruments to students in the elementary and middle school levels. I hope that you will agree that I am the best candidate for the full-time elementary music position at South Park Elementary. My experiences with classroom management, curriculum, programming, and South Dakota Fine Arts Content Standards will make me a highly qualified music educator in your district. Thank you for your professional consideration. I look forward to elaborating on how my specific skills and abilities will benefit South Park Elementary and the Belle Fourche School District.
Respectfully,
