ACTIVITY 2: EVIDENCE 4 CULTURAL LITERACY AROUND THE WORLD

When I was 10 years old I had the opportunity to get to know the culture of the indigenous people
in the Amazon called Ticunas who are one of the most representative cultures in the country that
have very different customs from ours and that is a challenge to see living surrounded by a lot of
nature of not having a table, chairs to eat, a bed to sleep in, a house, if not they live sharing
everything with each other, then they are very conservative and territorialist people who protect
their people and their roots above thoughts of anyone in addition to using their own language.

The ancestral territory of the ticunas was formely the mainland at the birth of the rivers, since the
omaguas their traditional enemies, inhated the magins and the islands of the amazon. The ticunas
then inhabites the small tributaries of the left bank of the amazon and the middle courses of some
rivers that flow into ther Putumayo. The omaguas to decimates by European colonization and
epidemics, they allowed the ticunas to settlement on ther amazon; with this change of habitat
they had to learn arts that were practically unknown, such as the manufacture of canoes to
navigate the great river and fishin in it,abandoning some their hunting traditions. To the east of
the ticunas lives the aruaks missing today. To the west are the Colombian and peuvian yahuas or
yaguas, the cocamas who mostly live in Peru and some uitotos who have settled recently as a
consequence of the migrations produced by the exploitation of rubber, the pebas, now extinct,
were also to the west.
