INT. LEILANI’S DORM ROOM - NIGHT

On the side of her bed, a night stand with a clock reading

6 pm on Fri.

Phone on the dresser buzzing with texts from the girls

group chat asking for the plans for tomorrow, within those
texts is a instagram comment from Mason.

This is LEILANI KALUA, 19. A freshman in college, who is

honest and funny, and moved from Hawai’i when she was in
middle school.

LEILANI
wakes up with annoyance and growls and texts back - going
back to sleep is what I’m doing tomorrow then goes back to
sleep.

INT. LEILANI’S DORM ROOM - MORNING

Leilani finally wakes up from her slumber.

Checking her notifications from her phone she sees the text
messages from the girls and many instagram messages
including masons.

LEILANI
Groans with a faint annoyance -
They are so annoying

Leilani replies with - you know I’ll be there at the party

tonight.

After checking her phone she gets ready for the day.

EXT. UNIVERSITY CAMPUS - MORNING

As Leilani is walking to class she is on her phone barely

looking up. She gets this strange presence and feeling that
somebody’s watching her.
 UNBLURS THE BACKGROUND TO SEE MASON FOR A SPLIT SECOND
CREEPING BEHIND HER

This is MASON JEFFERY, 20. He is a sophomore in college. He

is a white male, known to be weird and mysterious. Grew out
of the foster system. His father was a drug addict and
abusive and his mother was an enabling nurse.

INT. THE LECTURE HALL - MORNING

Leilani looks for a place to sit and waves at Hazel and

sits down next to her for the lecture.

This is HAZEL MARTINEZ, 20. She is a sophomore in college

and has been Leilani's best friend since middle school.
SHe’s a fiery latina that loves to party and isn’t afraid
to say what’s on her mind.

HAZEL
Damn bitch you finally made it! I
thought I was gonna have to pull
your ass out of bed myself.

LEILANI
acts as if she’s over it - yeah yeah.

Pondering the thought that someone was watching her but she
shakes her head in disbelief.

LEILANI (cont’d)
But, anyways what’d I miss?

HAZEL
Besides being bored in this lame
ass class nothing really. I wasn’t
even paying attention.

NEAR THE END OF THE CLASS

HAZEL
You’re still coming to the party
right?

LEILANI
looks at Hazel like she’s crazy -
You’re joking right?

HAZEL
Confused - No?
 LEILANI
Laughs - It’s funny that you’d
think I’d miss a party.

Teacher dismisses class.

HAZEL
Putting her books away - Aight
I’ll catch up with you later then.

LEILANI
Packing her bag - Okay bye.

Leilani walking out the classroom

On her way back to the dorm she feels that same presence
but chooses to ignore it.

EXT. LEILANI’S DORM - NIGHT

knock...knock...knock
LEILANI
whispers to herself - That must be
them.

Leilani opens the door with her 3 best friends standing

there.

This is HARLEY THOMPSON, 19. She is an African AMerican

beauty and one of Leilani’s best friends. She is brutally
honest and doesn’t mess around when it comes to her friend.

HARLEY
extremely excited - Hey boo!

LEILANI
Excited - Hey
Leilani, walking back to where she was doing makeup and
points toward her bed.

LEILANI
Y’all can sit on the bed while I
finish up.

This is SCARLET WILSON, 19. Her family immigrated from

Italy to America the same time Leilani came. Though they’ve
been bestfriends since highschool. She’s very kind, but
wild and always down for a good time.
 SCARLET
Girl take your time nobody’s
rushing you.

LEILANI
Light giggle - Okay okay I’ll be done in a minute.

Leilani enters the bathroom.

HAZEL
I’m so ready for this party like I
heard there was going to be hella
cute guys and mad drinks there.

HARLEY
Well no shit it’s at A Sig.

SCARLET
I’m just excited to get fucked up
tonight.

Leilani peeks her head from the bathroom door.

LEILANI
I concur

They continue to chatter amongst themselves while Leilani

finishes getting ready.

LEILANI
worried - Listen you guys we gotta
stick to the buddy system this
time around.

SCARLET
Yeah we know but-

LEILANI
cuts her off - No I'm serious
because we always drift off to god
knows where at the end of the
night.

HARLEY
cuts her of - okay okay chill out.

LEILANI
Alright then let’s go.
The girls scream and burst into sheer laughter and walk out
the door.

EXT. A SIG FRAT HOUSE - NIGHT

SCARLETT
Oh shit I already spotted me a
foine ass man.

HARLEY
laughs - Girl please.

SCARLETT
No, I'm serious.

HARLEY
looks around - Then show me.

Scarlet grabs her by the face and points.

SCARLETT
Right there.

HARLEY
Damn girl he is foine!!

Harley pushes Scarlett.

HARLEY (cont’d)
Go snatch him up sis.

SCARLETT
excited - I’ll be right back.

Scarlett runs off to see the boy.

LEILANI
Bu- nevermind.

HAZEL
Well there goes Scar.

HARLEY
Leave her alone, she'll be fine.

HAZEL
Shrugs her shoulders - oh well
let’s fuck shit up.
INT. A SIG FRAT HOUSE - NIGHT

CUT TO: THE CAMERA CATCHING THE PARTY AND ITS LIVELINESS

The girls are separated talking to different groups of

people while Hazel and Leilani are together.

Leilani excuses herself from the group

LEILANI
Whispers in Hazel’s ear - Hey I
gotta go to the bathroom. I’ll be
right back.

Hazel dismisses Leilani while still looking at the group

and listening to their conversation.

HAZEL
Whispers shewing her away - yeah okay.

Leilani, looking for the bathroom and leaving the cup on a

table.

A BODY MOVES THROUGH THE LENS NOT SHOWING THE DRUG BEING
DROPPED IN THE CUP.

Leilani finishes using the bathroom after the drugs are put
in her drink. She picks it up and continues to sip from the
same cup.

THE PARTY CONTINUES WITH TIGHT SHOTS OF EACH OF THE GIRLS

LEILANI
rejoins hazel - What’d I miss

HAZEL
Nodding toward the direction of
the person - You see that kid over
there?

LEILANI
confused - which one?

HAZEL
The one with the glasses?

LEILANI
Yeah what about him?
 HAZEL
He just puked all over the front
yard.

LEILANI
chuckled - Eww that’s so gross.

The party continues and Leilani is becoming more and more

out of it, everyone dancing and having a great time,
Leilani and Hazel separate when leilani goes into an empty
quiet room in the partyLeilani looks around the room when
she hears the door lock behind her only to see mason.

LEILANI
scared - Why’d you lock the door?

MASON
Because I wanted us to be alone.

LEILANI
walking toward him- Well I don’t, so could you move?

MASON
Yeah I guess.

Leilani faints into Mason's arms and Mason brings her into
his truck. He turns on the truck and drives off.

CUT TO: Mason and Leilani passed out in the truck.

LEILANI
wakes up a little - where am I?

MASON
rubbing her head - Shhhhh go back
to bed.

Leilani falls back asleep.

Leilani and Mason get to Mason’s broken down old squatter

home while Mason carries Leilani inside while the door
shuts behind them.
