Uterine Myoma

Uterine Myoma / Fibroids is a non-cancerous growths in the uterus that can


develop during a woman’s childbearing years.

The cause of fibroids isn’t well understood. The risk factors of Fibroids includes
family history of fibroids, obesity, frequently consuming alcoholic beverages,
Menstruation occurs before the age of 10th and infection on the uterus.

Myoma Sufferers rarely knows about their conditions because it usually has no
symptoms. The symptoms that may occurs are heavy menstrual bleeding,
prolonged periods and pelvic pain. Other than the main symptoms above, Myoma
sufferers often feel: Lower abdominal pain, uncomfortable, Intercourse pain,
defecating / urinate difficulty and low back pain. In some cases, Myoma may
effect infertility and miscarriage.

To ensure the presence of myomas in the uterus, doctors will do the further check
by USG or using CT scan / MRI.
