1. With reference to the DepEd Internal Quality Assurance process per DM-OUCI-
2021.013_1.2021-Joint Memo-03-and-04-Internal QA Process, the evaluation and
approval of Self Learning Modules in the Central Office takes time, hence, the possibility of
delayed release of Self Learning Modules in the third and fourth quarter. Besides, most of
the MAPEH SLMs did not pass the Quality Standards of DepEd.
2. Relative to this, a write shop on the development and contextualization of learning
resources in MAPEH grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10 and Arts, PE & Health in Grades 11 & 12
will be conducted during the INSET come March 15 — 19, 2021 at Bayawan National Senior
HS. The writeshop will be school or homebased to keep our teachers safe from
contamination of COVID-19 virus, but they are going to report on Monday, March 15, 2021
at Bayawan NHS Senior HS for briefing and instruction. School heads and PSDS are to
provide monitoring, supervision and technical assistance to their respective writers.
3. The objectives of the Write shop are the following:
‘a. Write/create corresponding supplementary learning modules based on the Most
Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs};
b. Develop & contextualize learning materials based on the Most Essential Learning
Competencies;
Gather teacher-made instructional materials for use in the write shop to suit with
the MELCs;
Equip teachers with skills in writing in making supplementary learning materials;
To prepare and compile reference/learning materials for teachers, and
To provide technical assistance in writing the SLM based on the Most Essential
Learning Competencies (MELCs).
4. Attached are the lists of assignment of teachers with the corresponding learning
‘competencies to be developed. School Heads should ensure that the assigned teachers are
not also assigned as writers in other curriculum areas.
5. Series of virtual conferences and on-site visit will be done to constantly monitor the
progress and to provide technical assistance to the writers.
6. Expenses incurred in the conduct of the training will be charged to Division/School MOOE
subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and guidelines.
7. Immediate dissemination is desired.
