Things to Know about the COVID-19 Pandemic

What Symptoms to Watch For:

 Fever
 Cough
 Headaches
 Fatigue
 Muscle or body aches
 Loss of taste or smell
 Sore throat
 Nausea
 Diarrhea
Further symptoms are signs of serious disease. If someone has trouble breathing, chest pain or
pressure, or difficulty staying awake, get medical care immediately.

Important Ways to Slow the Spread:

 Avoid crowds and sick ventilated indoor areas.
 When going outside, always wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to help protect
yourself and others.
 Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. If not available, use hand sanitizer.
 Stay 6 feet apart from others who don’t live with you.

Who are at Risk of Getting the Virus:

 Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease,
diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious
illness.
 People of any age, even healthy young adults and children, can get COVID-19.

What to Do If You're Sick:

 If you have symptoms of COVID-19, contact a healthcare provider and get tested.
 If testing is not available, stay home and away from others for 14 days.
 While you are in quarantine, do not go to work, to school or to public places. Ask
someone to bring you supplies.
 Isolate yourself from others, including those living in your household, to prevent spread
to them and the people that they may have contact with, especially grandparents.
How to Get Tested for the Virus:
 Visit your health department’s website to look for the latest local information on testing.
 Talk to a healthcare provider about getting tested. You and your healthcare provider
might consider either in-person testing, an at-home collection kit, or an at-home test.
 It is still important to stay home even if you are not tested especially if you have
symptoms of COVID-19, or if you have not been vaccinated and have been in close
contact with someone with COVID-19,
