SIR DAVID ADJAYE ABOUT ARCHITECTURE PROFESSION

I think that in the profession i really talk about architecture not just as a technical skill but
for me im very sensitive to the power that architecture has to inform and literally shape the
way we in which behave in society and i don’t say that lightly , im not saying that the brick
and motor do something but i can give you an example the prison, condition of a prisoner
to feel that they are being punished a chapel or cathedral enables a person to feel the
soaring dignity of hope and aspiration beyond the mortal world or beyond the realism right
so these two things play at different scales and operate on the psychology of the person so
if you can understand on those two and can agree with this imagine what everything is
happening between and then you understand how important is built environment. Its not
just some decadent thing or some elitist thing it is the very thing that gives the dignity
always and enables and gives kind of a sort of background armour so our society to grow to
grow faster.
