I do believe these statistics do support, refute and are irrelevant to the claim that magnets can

help relieve some types of pain. The data study is based off the patient’s experience, from their

feelings to their own level of pain. The data shows major improvements in the pain ratings of the

magnet treated patients. The results from the post-test were really clear in showing that the ones

who received treatment from the active magnet had relief and the ones that received only

placebos did not have relief. This data could be helpful in determining if using magnets for pain

would be an acceptable treatment for patients. I think this is a good study, but it would be

beneficial to conduct further studies on other types of patients who are experiencing pain. For

example, patients who suffer from back pain, broken bones, or pain from a certain type of

surgery. Another thing that would be beneficial, is if they did the study again with a larger

sample of the population. But anytime something works without medication that can cause

harmful side effects, I am all for it.
