When President Rodrigo Roa Duterte declared a State of Public Health Emergency on March

8, 2020, there are parameters set in order to lessen the spread of the virus with the
participation of Inter-agency Task Force, an intergovernmental agency (IATF). To manage the
coronavirus situation, the IATF disclosed a National Action Plan in which there will be
effective and efficient control through implementing quarantine protocols, peace, and security
during these pandemics. Aside from that, it also worked with its members like Department of
Labor and Employment (DOLE) for ratifying the budget for Social Amelioration Program
(SAP) given to the beneficiaries. Mass testing which was also exhibited by the DOH, was also
approved by the IATF which later on, junked by the Supreme Court. The IATF does not only
meddle in providing or securing a healthy environment but apparently they are also reaching
out to provide solutions in terms of transportation operations, issues about commercial rents,
initiating to look for medical equipment and most of all, food availability and affordability. So
far, as I observed, the quarantine and isolation is more greatly depicted in all sides of the
globe. For me, this is a must because this is the only way we can prevent ourselves or the
public in general to have exposure to the virus. In this way, the adverse effects on the business
sector, especially employment, can be foreseen. Nonetheless, without preventive measures,
public health will be put at stake.
