Within school, easiest thing to find is writing tools such as pen, pencil, marker, or even more

traditional tools like chalk. Among these tools, pencils are more common to use since its flexibility
and also it is easier to erase when there is some spelling mistakes or any writing/drawing mistakes
compared to pen or even marker. Pencils first invented by French Engineer, Nicolas Jacques. The
very first form of pencil was only made with pure graphite with clay as binding tool (its body).
Nowadays, based on its thickness, there are different types of pencils such as 3H, H, B, 2B, and etc.
from thin to thicker line while the body are more or less made of wood. People formerly use pencil
since it is cheap compared to pen. It is also easier to use and to be erased when necessary especially
for people whose work related to a lot of writing or drawing.

With the coming of modern era, emerges type of pencil called mechanical pencil. Different from its
predecessors, mechanical pencil’s body usually made of plastics or even types of metal. It has more
durability over long-time usage, compared to common pencil which using wood for its body. Its
upper part has eraser. It also comes in different thickness, yet one body usually designed for certain
thickness. It is called mechanical due to its body contain mechanics that will push the graphite out
once pushed. Supporting its function, the graphite used for this pencil also unique. They’re made
into shorter and thinner units around 5-7cm long and separated from the body, making it possible
for users to refill the graphite instead of buying the whole new pencil when using the normal ones.
The pricing also different. While normal pencil priced around Rp 1000 – Rp 4.000, the cheapest yet
durable for mechanical pencil priced around Rp 15.000 not including its refill, while professional-use
of this pencil could easily reach hundreds of thousands for its body only. The user for such expensive
tools are usually professional drawer or people aimed to be one, while for students usually they go
for the ease of use and that they dont have to sharpen their pencil once its blunted out, instead just
push the button and they can continue writing,
