There is an irrefutable fact that tourism has both advantages and

disadvantages.It can be said that tourism has some noteworthy positive

effects.The main advantage of tourism is that, it generates a significant
portion of national income for many countries. Firstly, tourists spend money
on a wide range of services, including hotels, amusements, transportation,
food, medical services, ect. This way, tourism yields an additional income,
greatly supporting the countries’ economies. An addtional advantage of
tourism would be reducing unemployment. For instance, the influx of tourists
results in a larger demand in restaurant workers, tour guides, hotel staff and
employees of retail services, exhorting business owners to hire more people
for these positions.  Despite these aforementioned benefits, several drawbacks
do exist.The disadvantage that most countries have to deal with is pollution.
. When huge numbers of people visit, they invariably burden the
transportation system and contribute to pollution—locally and globally. For
instance, when places of interest are overcrowded, natural resources often
become overexploited. Another disadvantage of tourism is criminal. The
presence of a considerable number of tourists with a lot of money to spend,
and often carrying valuables such as cameras and jewelry, increases the
attraction for criminals and brings with it activities like robbery and drug
