The Barbados Slaves Codes are related to Bacons Rebellion in that they both slave codes and Bacons Rebellion
both hurt the rights and status of slaves in society. Many slaves joined Bacons Rebellion, and the unification of
blacks and whites scared the ruling class, who imposed a hardening of racial lines in slavery.
Both the Act of Toleration and Bacons Rebellion were designed to achieve a certain goal, however both failed to
do so. Bacons Rebellion died out after Bacon died, and the Act of Toleration did not actually stop religious
discrimination among Christians.

The Act of Toleration and the Salem Witch Trials both were influenced by religion. The Witch Trials were aimed
Salem Witch Trials mainly towards women, this was caused by Puritan values deeming women as lesser people. The Act of Toleration
was caused by a continuing discrimination among sects of Christianity.

Great Awakening The Great Awakening was caused by a lack of religious devotion among the people, while the witch trials were
caused by an overzealous amount of religion among the people. Both events increased religious devotion among
the people, the witch trials making people obsessive over “witches” deemed sinners in their religion, and the
general rise in religion and its part in peoples lives during the Great Awakening.

Over time, people became
more tolerant of other classes,
religions, and races. Cultures
also began to interact more as
travel increased, which cause
cultural diffusion around the
globe.
People still have a bias towards
different cultures, people, and
ideals. Society still struggles with
certain ideas and values, as did
people back in the early days of
America.
There has certainly been more change than
continuity in society and culture in modern
times, but there have still been some basic
values that society has retained, as well as
major changes in the fundamentals of
society from the early days of history.
