My Backyard
The backyard of my house is a wonderful place where I can go and seat to enjoy nature.

In a 65° day, I walk to the door, and see the yellow and white daffodils. The brown and reddish

trees. There is also the annoying white fence that the neighbor built. I can also see the red brick

and white houses of my neighbors. Some days I can see the squirrels running on the tree, then

on the wood of the deck. When I get outside to the deck, the first thing is the wind that touches

my face. It’s relaxing with the birds singing, the brown metal of the wind chime, and the wooden

chime as well; they all together form a magistral orchestra that make peaceful songs. Of course,

the tan-white Shi Tzu and the Maltese, cannot be outside of that orchestra. They delight me with

their high peak barking. Walking slowly, I reach the curved wicker bench and I seat on it. The

sun is peeking through the clouds to give life to everything around me. When I’m sitting there, I

just enjoy the moment, remembering that when I was in Honduras, I didn’t enjoyed nature as I

do in the USA because in Honduras, the place where I lived, was all nature. We ate fresh

products, just taken from the plants or the ground. It also brings me memories of when I went to

North Carolina, the sound of the mountains and all the creatures in it.

There she is my Charming and caring grandmother. When I enter her kitchen, I feel

blessed because I can see her beautiful warm undertone skin, dark and small eyes. She’s always

wearing a long skirt with her flowered and colorful apron. She’s not around 5 feet tall. The

kitchen has a delightful just made tortillas smell, together with the red beans soup. While she’s

making the tortillas, she is walking slow back and forward from the table to the mud oven. When

she turns around, she looks me standing at the door and asks with a soft voice, and wide-open

eyes, “have you eaten?” when I go to her house, she always offers me whatever she is cooking.

She always making bread, juice, and other things to give to people. She does everything for other

people, without a doubt she lives happy when other people are happy.
