1. Magna Carta
It is seen as one of the most influential legal documents in British history. Indeed
Lord Denning (1899 -1999) a distinguished British judge and second only to the
Lord Chief Justice as Master of the Rolls, called the document “the greatest
constitutional document of all time – the foundation of the freedom of the
individual against the arbitrary authority of the despot”. However, its original
conception was not nearly as successful. (Historic-UK.com)
A document delineating a series of laws establishing the rights of English barons
and major land owners, which limited the absolute authority of the King of
England and became the basis for the rights of English citizens.
2. SME
Businesses that maintain revenues, assets or a number of employees below a
certain threshold. Each country has its own definition of what constitutes a small
and medium-sized enterprise (SME). Certain size criteria must be met and
occasionally the industry in which the company operates in is taken into account
as well.
They outnumber large firms considerably, employ vast numbers of people and are
generally entrepreneurial in nature, helping to shape innovation.
