To Whom It May Concern:

It is a pleasure to write on behalf of Azeneth Jauregui for your scholarship. She is a senior in our Environmental
Studies, Engineering & Technology Academy (ESET). She is a leader who is humble and generous. As part of ESET,
she had been part of our showcase to lead tours of the local eighth graders to observe each academy at our
school. She is always willing to assist when needed including tutoring our ninth graders in algebra. She is also a
team player and works well with others.

This year she was able to become a college peer counselor. This group of highly selected seniors assists, their
peers with anything from applications to financial aid. Usually, she would be serving inside the college center, but
with remote learning this has become much more difficult, however she and the other peers are working it out to
assist the college counselor. Her positive outlook and easy manner find it easy for her peers to talk with her about
their college application process.

She is active in our Boys and Girls Club and is currently the Academic Success Manager with Keystone. The club
has been active online since our school went remote last March providing activities and support for the members.
Azeneth is a role model for the other students. She is always willing to volunteer when able. She has recently
been accepted into the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program and will be starting an
online paid program to assist with skills training and help prepare for post-secondary education and employment.

Education is important to Azeneth, she would like to pursue a career as a civil engineer. Her dynamic work ethic
will benefit her in working toward that goal. She has managed to continue her studies and get excellent grades,
currently ranked as number four in her senior class. She often has to take care of her siblings while her mother
works. During school vacations and on weekends, Azeneth usually assists her mother in cleaning homes. Her
mother is a single parent and due to financial circumstances the family has had to move three times in the last
four years. Throughout all of this, she has remained positive and maintained her grades. Azeneth understands
that her education can contribute to the future of her family eventually changing their financial status.

She is adaptable and has transitioned to our online learning with the COVID restrictions. She has remained an
active member in our student community and Azeneth is an excellent role model for her peers. She has accepted
her offer of admissions for the University of California, Berkeley in civil engineering. As Azeneth continues toward
her educational and career goals, your financial award would assist her in her journey. I highly recommend her
for your scholarship. If there are any further questions please do not hesitate to call my office (310)847-6007 or
email me at lengel@lausd.net.

Sincerely,
