Letter to the Earth

Dear Earth,

I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for everything we have put you through. Everything
we have done. We hurt you, messed with you, and did nothing to fix it. At the rate
we are going, we are all going to die, you included. I’m so sorry. We are killing so
very many of your creatures, destroying your land and water, and it is wrong. We
need to fix it. Some of us do our best, I swear. A Lot of the others, though… A Lot
of the others are not. It’s so, so wrong, but we aren’t doing much about it. We need
to do better. We do. You are hurting, and in pain, and we ignore it, pretend it isn’t
happening, and do nothing about it. We need to stop. You need our help, and we
need you to live. So let’s work together. Let’s do the right thing for both of us. We
need to live, you need to live, animals need to live, so we need each other. You
didn’t need us, but now you do, so we can fix our own messes, and heal you. In the
end, we need to work together, we need each other. It’s not gonna be easy to do,
however. It’s gonna take time, money, and work, but if we start now, we can do it.
Only if we start now, though. We need to work together, we need to do our best to
fix each other, or we all die. So that's the truth. We need to work together, or we all
die.

Sincerely,
Samuel LaMotte.
