OUR MOON BASE !

SUNLIGHT/Electricity
● During the two weeks that there will be sun, we will use solar panels, which will power all
the electrical devices
● Very strong light bulbs will provide heat for the plants during the 14 day period without
sun.

For the 14 day period with sun, we are going to be using solar panels, which will convert the
sun’s energy into electricity for all of our electrical-powered devices.

For the 14 day period without sun, we are going to be using Helium-3, which is an abundant
source on the moon, as fuel to power nuclear fusion power plants. This is safe to do since
Helium-3 is not radioactive and would not produce dangerous waste products. Then, the
nuclear fusion power plants would generate electricity.
Kitchen/Eating area

● We have a microwave that melts the ice the rovers bring to get water
● The food we eat comes from the farm
● We have the weights there so that are bodys will stay funcional when we are
on the moon
Pollination
● We use fans to blow the pollen around inside the plants.
● Then when the plants produce more pollen the fans keep blowing it around
like a cycle.
● Instead of using bees we are using the fans because even inside the farm
bees would not survive in space.
Water, Rovers and Soil

● For our water supply we started off with a little bit of water and from the
Earth then we are going to recycle waste water from the bathrooms and
put it into a water filter system so that we could have clean water to use
for drinking and showering.
● On our spaceship we have a few rovers so we can collect lunar water
and ice for drinking and showering too. Also we can use the rovers to
collect lunar regolith (moon soil) to add to our farm.
● Another thing we are going to do to get more soil for our farm is that we
are going to use a compost bin which is full of our food waste to collect
more soil.
