E. Miscellaneous Guidelines
(1) The admissions to M. Tech./Ph.D. Program is offered to foreign nationals under the Cultural
Exchange Fellowship Programme of the Government of India, administered by Indian Council
of Cultural Relations (ICCR), New Delhi. Persons interested in these programmes are required
to apply through the Indian High Commission/Embassy in their respective countries.
(2) All Foreign nationals should hold a valid foreign passport.
(3) All Foreign nationals are required to obtain Student visa before they can register at IITJ. In case
of candidates from restricted countries, the application MUST be forwarded through the
Indian Embassy or the High Commission in their respective countries.
(4) Fellowships may be provided to the eligible foreign students at the same rate that of Indian
students by the respective funding agency.
(5) The qualified Foreign Nationals will be given seat on supernumerary basis.
(6) Merely fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee the selection of a
candidate into any program.
F. Offer of Admissions:
The offer of admission will be made based on recommendations received from the
Departments/Schools/IDRP/ Centers and selected candidates will be informed through email.
However, students applying through various government initiatives (e.g. ICCR, SII or ASEAN) will
be informed by concerned agencies.
G. Application Procedure
The candidates interested in applying under full-time self-sponsored mode can use the following
link to fill and submit the application form online:

The candidates applying through other initiatives of Govt. of India need to apply through a specific
route e.g. ICCR, SII of ASEAN fellowship program.
For admission to the 2021-22 First Semester commencing in July 2021, this online link will remain
active till 20 April 2021.
