Prayer of Confession Susan Gilbert, TRE

O Holy God, in your salvation you set us free to be your people. Lord Jesus, you came that we might have
life, and have it abundantly. We have not always availed ourselves of that life which you offer us. You tell
us that you love us, but we don’t believe you. We confess that we too often are impoverished of
spirit. Our minds dwell on things that are not of you. We are distracted by the allure of the world. Direct
us by the power of your Holy Spirit to what is important and lasting. Forgive our sin, and help us to
believe your love, and share your love with others. (Please continue in silent confession) In Jesus’. Amen.

Leader: God is merciful and loving. If we confess our sins to Him, He who is faithful and just will forgive us and
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
