Literature Review
How do you choose the car that’s best for you? This is a question that I want to dive deeper into
because it will help me in a real-life situation. I am planning on buying a car soon; probably in the
summer. I am trying to choose between a few different cars of different brands, and want to know how
to pick one. Which one would be the best for me to get? I will go into the steps that one should take,
and then apply it to different cars. I will talk about things like fuel economy, color, and more. I choose a
few different sources to help me on this journey.
There was once a time where you didn’t have to choose, because there were no cars. People
used things like horses and carriages to get around. Some people would walk everywhere. The
Automobile History article at History.com lets us know how and when cars were invented. The first
successful gasoline car was built in 1893. Other cars began to be built after the first creation. Now there
were choices to be made. As time went on, more and more features were added to cars. There were
more styles and technology to choose from. This led to the current state of having so much trouble
choosing between all of these different cars.
What key points would I need to talk about to answer my question? Ronald Montoya, in his
article titled “10 Steps to Finding the Right Car for You”, may believe that it’s assessing your needs. This
branches down to a few major ideas. These major ideas can include the number of passengers that you
will need to carry, color importance, fuel economy, and type of driving. Other factors can be included as
well, but these are some of the key points that I will use to answer me question. Other sources that go
into detail on some of these major ideas include the KBB Editors on color, and Xiaosong Hu on fuel

economy; at sciencedirect. Another factor that can be a major factor, but wasn’t included in the other
sources is the car brand. This is discussed by Compare.com’s article, “8 Ways to Choose the Right Car
Brand for You”.
Some of my sources give a broad overview of the big topic, while other contain certain parts.
Some contain information not included in an overview. Montoya provided an overview that did not talk
about color, for example, and both Montoya and Hu talk about fuel economy. Articles will always have
similarities and differences.
While all of my sources have the same audience, which is people trying to gather information
about cars, they differ in some other areas. For example, the purpose of Montoya’s article is to help
provide you with information that will help you choose a car. This differs from the KBB Editors who have
the purpose of explaining how car colors work, and how to choose the best color instead of car.
According to the article, the color is really something that needs to be considered due to things like
color trends that change the values of certain cars. The color of your car may affect what you’ll get for it
when trying to sell it. In Montoya’s article, you can see what he views as especially important in
choosing an overall car. He explains needs lime passengers, talks about your budget, leasing vs. buying,
and more. He explains them in what he believes are the steps to take going through those things.
The article by Hu, at science direct, is another article that talks about just one aspect. Hu uses
fuel economy. He uses a control framework to investigate different things about fuel economy, exhaust
emissions, and vehicle safety. Those things sort of link together. This provides a whole other statistical
level for my essay.
Now that we are finished discussing the topic and supporting sites, we can get into some extra
information. Are there any misconceptions around this topic? The answer is yes. For example, I
mentioned color earlier. One misconception could be thinking that color really doesn’t matter. Another
misconception would be that doing all this research isn’t actually important; just find a car that runs.

That may be okay sometimes, but it is really best to do research. Otherwise, you may regret your
decision. You could end up stuck with a very bad car, or one that you really just don’t like. You really
need to take your time to assess everything to ensure that you are making the right decision.
What are possible answers to my question? Some possible answers could be simply doing your
research. Make sure you are well educated and know what all you need and how the car you are
choosing fits in with your needs. I don’t know if I could be more specific on this, but I should probably
try. At this stage, I feel like that’s the only set answer that I can come up with. I could talk about going in
depth or just making sure your basic needs are met? This could vary from person to person.
I can tell that I need to do more research into each specific point other than fuel economy. I
have some nice statistics on those, but other topics I may be thin on. It isn’t a good thing to have a thin
amount of support for an essay. For any essay, your information really needs to be very thick. This is
why I will spend time before the completion on my final essay doing a lot my research. It is vital to my
