Deputy Peach,

I am a full-time student majoring in Criminal Justice Studies at Appalachian State University in

Boone, North Carolina (USA). I am reaching out to you to enquire about an internship
opportunity with your office. In my quest looking for internships over this upcoming summer, I
came across the US Marshals Service and it stood out to me the most.

I think what qualifies me the most for this internship is my relentless work ethic, how I handle
stress when faced with high-stakes situations, my ability to work with anyone and to act as a
mediator between two parties. In a previous job, have especially learned how to handle a high-
stress situation because some people can just fly off the handle quickly and the proper thing to do
would not be to argue with them, but just listen and see if there is anything you can do to help
deescalate the situation at hand and make all parties happy and satisfied. I believe sports helped
me the most when it comes to handling diversity because when playing I have had a few injuries
set me back and put me behind, but I would not let it deter me from getting back to what I’m
most passionate about. The skills I specified above will best fit with the position I am inquiring
about because I know your office looks for someone who handles stress well, acts with humility,
and is committed to their work and I check all those boxes. I believe what I am most passionate
about now is the criminal justice field and being able to make difference and have a positive
impact, especially in today’s current climate.

why I would be a good candidate for an internship with your office. Yet, I am willing to do
anything to pursue my dream of having an internship with your office and one day hopefully
