Case Study

People are mostly inclined to the idea of success as having expensive houses, expensive
cars, successful careers and being a wealthy individual who can buy anything they wish to but
as they reach the peak they will eventually feel empty. Why is that so?

I agree with the statement of Jamie though I have not experienced it yet. When I was
young I thought the idea of success and happiness was always being on the top and being able
to rise from poverty to riches, but as I grow older and as I listened to stories of successful
people, I can see their common problem. Despite having everything they want they still feel
empty inside because they lack something significant that will make them whole and that is
God and nurturing their spirituality.

The spiritual self is as important as our other self because human nature tells us that
“having faith in something greater than yourself tends to give you confidence in a hopeless
situation”. Indeed, our spirituality is what gives meaning to our life because we get the chance
to go back to our core and realize the purpose of this given life. It also allows us to engage in
deep conversations with God where we speak our truth. Regardless of social status, nurtured or
well developed spiritual self inspires peace within us and gives us the will to make better
choices. Therefore, what made Jamie feel lonely was because he failed to nurture his
spirituality and belief in God.
