(Maya) Phytochemicals are bioactive compounds found in various kinds of fruits and
vegetables as well as cereal grains; which are known to have antioxidants and radical
scavenging effects that help decrease the risk of several chronic diseases.

Phytochemicals-various biologically active compounds that are in plants.


Flavonoids-a colorless crystalline compound which is the basis of a number of white or yellow
plant pigments.
Synergistic-relating to the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations,
substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their
separate effects.
Antioxidants-a substance that inhibits oxidation, especially one used to counteract the
deterioration of stored food products.

Oliver Proposed mechanisms of action for these findings include inhibition of lipid oxidation,
lipid-lowering effects, hypoglycemic- and insulin-lowering effects, antioxidant activity,

It is important for people to know this information because people need better healthy eating
along with eating better to prevent sickness and disease.

(Maya) No, they are not biased because the article is strictly informational from a medical
background, so therefore they have no bias or side because they are just sharing information
about what Phytochemicals are, what they are good for, and what contains them.
