Monday: This week was extremely productive at work and things are really starting to fall into
place. I am learning that public health ties into almost every aspect of health care there is. I am
learning more and more each week about patient safety, education and overall satisfaction while
interning here at ROSI. On Monday, I started my project which is creating patient educational
packets for the providers to give to their patients about surgical procedures and questions when
they come in for whatever problem it may be. The first packet that I completed was about “Total
knee surgery”. In this educational packet my overall goal was to educate patients and use words
that allowed for them to understand what the surgery entailed, while also using pictures to grab
Tuesday: I volunteered at the local food drive and it was an amazing experience again. I oversaw
“grape duty” that day and we fed about 200 families with all the food that was donated from
local farms, grocery stores, and farmers markets. The only down size was that I lost my water
bottle that I just bought last week. Overall, I am so lucky that I get to help these people and learn
about the community around me and how I can help them improve their quality of life

Thursday: On Thursday, I continued to work on this packet and ended up finishing it up, printing
it out and handing it over to the surgeon for him to look at it and approve of it. So far, they have
told me how much of a help I have been. I am very thankful for this.
Friday: I started on another educational packet and now I have a total of almost 4 done. I am
