ABSTRACT

Many students have fear and hate learning physics subject. This is understandable as
physics can be challenging given the subject is content-heavy and students have to
memorize theories, formulas, principles, and everything in between. A metric prefix, or SI
prefixes is a specifier or mnemonic that is prepended to units of measurement to indicate
multiples or fractions of the units. Each prefix has a unique symbol that is prepended to
the unit symbol, value and name. Thus, designing and developing Learning Mobile Apps
called P Card Game using GAMIFICATION concept to help students overcome their fear
and hate physics, effectively memorized all the SI Prefixes and Symbols in a short time.
According to Student Work Report, most students have difficulty in identifying the symbol
and the value of SI prefixes. This finding motivate to design and develop Mobile
Application call P Card game. The game was designed to improve students’ ability to
memorize the SI Prefixes which is taught in basic elementary physics topic. The objective
of the innovation is to help students to identify and memorize the symbol and value of
each SI prefixes. P Card Game was upload to google play store and can be access more
than 170 countries in the world.
