Simulation Lab
Course Objectives:

Understand and analyze control systems, and develop their performance specifications using MATLAB
simulation tool.

List of Experiments:

1. Design a MATLAB program for linear convolution.


2. Design a MATLAB program for circular convolution
3. Design a MATLAB program for Autocorrelation function.
4. Develop a MATLAB program to design an IIR Butterworth filter.
5. Develop a MATLAB program to design an IIR Chebyshev type I filter.
6. Determination of step & impulse response for a type ‘0’, type ‘1’, type ‘2’ systems.
7. Determination of bode plot using MATLAB for 2nd order system & obtain controller
specification parameters.
8. Determination of root locus plot using MATLAB for 2nd order system & obtain controller
specification parameters.
9. Determination of Nyquist plot using MATLAB control system toolbox.

Course Outcomes:

After successful completion of this course the students will be able to:

CO1 construct various signals and systems on MATLAB software.


CO2 demonstrate the MATLAB programs for various convolution operations.
CO3 design the MATLAB programs for digital filter deigns.
CO4 analyze the impulse and ramp response for first and second order control system.
CO5 construct root locus and bode plots for given control system model.
