The way back

I love watching films in my leisure time. The last film I watched is the way back which is a
drama. It was released in March 2020 and it lasts for about an hour and a half it was directed by
Gavin O’Connor. The film is set in the USA and American English is used. The staring role is played by
Ben Affleck and the rest of the cast of the film are not well-known names, but it is a strong cast.
The film tells the story of a man called Jack Cunningham, who used to be a high school
basketball superstar, but walked away from the game for unknown reasons. After a couple of years,
he is stuck in a meaningless job and struggles with alcoholism. One day he is asked to become a
coach for his alma mater and his life starts to improve.
The script is beautifully written and the plot is fascinating. Not only is the directing superb,
but also the acting is of very high standard. Ben Affleck brings his character to life with a memorable
performance. Moreover, It’s a great film and mixed, strong feelings can be experienced while
watching it, such as sadness, anger, joy and even tears during the moving scenes. The most
outstanding feature about this film is the soundtrack which is fantastic. I only have a negative
comment- the main character uses too much of offensive language, so the film does not appeal to
children. However, this is a small criticism of an otherwise excellent film. I
highly recommend the Way Back film, especially to drama fans. If you haven’t watched it, make sure
you do.
