Pelvic OMM

Pelvic Diagnosis
 First Reset the Pelvis
 Standing Flexion Test OR ASIS Compression Test  What Side
o Standing Flexion Test  Place hands around PSIS’s and ask Patient touch toes
 Superior Movement of PSIS  Side of Dysfunction
o ASIS Compression Test  Push Down on ASIS’s and see which side offers
Resistance
 Resistant ASIS  Side of Dysfunction
 Compare ASIS and PSIS  Anterior/Posterior/Inflare/Outflare

Anterior Innominate
 ASIS is lower than PSIS in Dysfunctional Side
 Treatment  Muscle Energy (Reciprocal Inhibition Like)
o Flex Patients Dysfunctional Side at the Hip
o Ask Patient to Extend the Hip
o 3 – 5 Times
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s
Posterior Innominate
 ASIS is higher than PSIS in Dysfunctional Side
 Treatment  Muscle Energy (Reciprocal Inhibition Like)
o Extend Patients Dysfunctional Side at the Hip
o Ask Patient to Flex the Hip
o 3 – 5 Times
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s

Innominate Inflare
 ASIS is more medial than PSIS in Dysfunctional Side
 Treatment  Muscle Energy (PIR)
o Cross and Flex Patients Dysfunctional Side
o Induce an Outflare
o Resist Patient’s Inflare movement
o 3 – 5 Times
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s

Innominate Outflare
 ASIS is more Lateral than PSIS in Dysfunctional Side
 Treatment  Muscle Energy (PIR)
o Cross and Flex Patients Dysfunctional Side
o Induce an Inflare
o Resist Patient’s Outflare movement
o 3 – 5 Times
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s
Inferior Pubic Shear
 Pubic Symphysis on Dysfunctional Side is Lower than Opposite Side
 Treatment  Follow Anterior Innominate
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s

Superior Pubic Shear

 Pubic Symphysis on Dysfunctional Side is Higher than Opposite Side
 Treatment  Follow Posterior Innominate
o NOTE***  Patient’s Force is Diagonal Flexion
o Reassess
 Reset Pelvis
 Standing Flexion OR ASIS Compression
 Compare ASIS’s and PSIS’s
