We are learning about all the things that makes your child them.
Please help keep the theme alive by doing these activities at home so
we can discuss them in class.

Cook with your child NAME GAME

TIPS!
• While cooking with your
child be sure to talk about
the utensils and items
being used. This will
expand their vocabulary
and knowledge of what
goes into their favorite
meal.
• Ask them to take notes and
create lists to bring in to
share with the classroom.
• Label or create a separate
guide to interpret their
work.
• Children learn and absorb
more when they don’t
realize they are learning,
so make it
Help your child associate something they like to
each letter in their name. Also ask them to tell you
something about that item. Help them write it out
if needed. This will help with letter recognition and
help them associate letters of things they like to
them!
Let’s use my name for example! Breanna
B- Blankets (I love cuddling up with blankets on the
couch)
R- Reading (I love reading every night before bed)
E- Earrings (I love earrings and never leave the
house without them)
A- Alligators (I love alligators so much I went to
Gatorland in Florida)
N- Naps (Naps are my favorite thing to do
whenever I can)
N- Number Nine (Nine is my lucky number my
birthday has three nines in it)
A- Aunt (I love being an Aunt to my 5 nieces and 1
nephew)

Help your child make a Journal about them!

Weigh your child, measure their height, talk about their hair color, eye color, what they
want to be when they grow up, their favorite movie, what they love to do at school etc.
Start a journal that is all about them and help them come up with things to put in it.
This increases their awareness about themselves and will help us have things to talk
about in the classroom! We will be doing a book about them and this will help them get
familiar with themselves when the time comes!
