Assignment #2

When I think of a classroom, I think of a warm and welcoming environment. In my

classroom, I want the students to feel comfortable and safe, which is what I was striving for as I

was decorating this classroom. For my second grade dream class, there would be 20 students. I

think that 20 students is the perfect amount so that I have a chance to truly connect and get to

know each student. In this dream classroom, in terms of technology there would be a

SmartBoard, a computer for myself, a projector, an ELMO, and a laptop cart with 20 laptops (1

for each student). There would also be three main areas in this dream classroom. There will be

their assigned tables which they will be sitting at for group work, individual work, and class

learning. However, there will also be a library area where students can sit to read their books,

and a testing/writing center. These areas will mostly be used during centers or after each student

is done with their individual work. One of my favorite areas that I put in is the wall full of the

students’ work. When I become a teacher I will love to show off all my students’ hard work. It is

also a good way to see their growth throughout the school year.
