Om Swastiastu, Good morning teachers and friends, my name is I Made Sujana Yasa, a
student at STIKes Wira Medika Bali, here I will make a speech on the topic of acute otitis
media.
Health is one of the most important things, especially hearing health problems, acute
otitis media is a disease that is in the sense of hearing. Acute Otitis Media is a disease that affect
middle ear, commonly found especially in children. Children is more suceptible to Acute otitis
media because of children anatomy and immunity system is not working like adults. Acute otitis
media mostly occurs in children 0-11 years old. Otalgia and middle ear effusion is the most
common symptom in acute otitis media Patient.
Symptoms that arise vary depending on the stage and age of the patient, the age of the
children with complaints in the form of pain in the ears and fever, there is a previous history of
the upper respiratory tract, In adolescents or adults, hearing pain and ear pain are usually felt,
typical symptoms of otitis Acute media are high fever, the child is restless and has trouble
sleeping, diarrhea, convulsions and often holds the sore ear.
Therapy of acute otitis media as though antibiotic therapy, such as amoxicillin, analgesics
such as aspirin or acetaminophen, sedatives (in young children), nasopharyngeal decongestant
therapy. Effective therapy of therapy (eg oral antibiotic dose and duration of therapy), bacterial
virulence, and patient physical status.
So acute otitis media (AOM) is a disease that can be treated and cured by itself, but it can
be prevented by keeping children away from environments full of smoke or cigarettes, complete
vaccinations, give exclusive breastfeeding. That's enough speech from me, hopefully what I have
