• product-based - from another hand, this perspective is about measured how good is
the product. And it's an impartial thing, far away from how the customer feels
about this product. It's answer a question: how does the product work? The
product based scenario based on some hard data, e.g. how fast it restart, or how
much time left between failures, etc. Limitation, in that case, is that the higher
quality of the product can't ensure that the people will like the product. This
perspective doesn't care about customers individual taste or preference.

The Product-based Approach
The emphasis in the product-based approach is on quality as a precise and measurable
variable. Any differences (in quality) that do occur reflect differences in the quantity of some
ingredient or attribute possessed by a product.

This approach leads to a vertical or hierarchical ordering of quality. Products are raised
according to the amount of ingredients or attributes that each possesses. However, an
unambiguous ranking is possible only if the ingredients/attributes in question are considered
preferable by all buyers.

Product Perspective
Quality
Quality does not have a proper meaning or definition. It differs with the individual
roles in production and marketing chain. Many people have different views over the
single concept of quality like perfection, waste elimination, consistency, fast
delivery, good product, right at first itself, and delighting clients.

Quality is defined in six perspective and of those is Product Perspective

Product Perspective
Product-Based Perspective defines quality as a “function of a specific, measurable
variable and that differences in quality reflect differences in quantity of some product
attributes.” Example: Quality and price perceived relationship.

Product related definition of quality refers to the quantity of product attribute like the
thread count in shirt or features in a mobile phone or an automobile. Larger the product
attributes, higher the quality which encourages manufacturers to incorporate many
features.
