Advanced Central Controller

AC5102

A6V10333471 Siemens AB
25.06.2012 Siemens AB
Features

Features
 Central controller for SiPass integrated access control systems
 Support for 500,000 cardholders
 Support for up to 96 doors
 Fully supported in SiPass integrated MP2.6 or higher, backwards compatible
with MP2.4 and MP2.5
 Up to six field level network (FLN) channels (RS485) for local device
connection
 Up to 16 local devices can be connected to each FLN. See FLN Device Load
Limitations [➙ 6]
 Building level network (BLN) port for communication with the host system via
Ethernet
 FLN1-3 can also be changed to RS232 communication port for Modem or
Elevator Integration.
The AC5102 also has a USB diagnostic port that provides a direct connection to its
micro-processor to facilitate the download of operating instructions (firmware).
Firmware updates can be made without having to visit the controller cabinets.
Communication to the host system occurs via a 10/100Mb Ethernet connection.
This allows communications over any WAN or LAN where devices on the network
can be as-signed a unique IP address. This type of communication ensures the
fastest possible transaction times between the host system and AC5102 field
panels.
The AC5102 hosts a tamper input that can be used to detect if the cabinet in which
it has been mounted has been opened. It also provides an alarm output that can
operate a visual or audio alarm when security has been breached.

Product Description

1 Product Description
The Advanced Central Controller (ACC) is a high performance access control and
security field panel. The ACC is installed as the main hardware component of a
Siemens integrated access control and security solution.
The ACC is capable of hosting multiple access control and security applications
from a single panel, including access management for up to 96 doors (only with
firmware version 2.30.xx or higher).
The ACC processes all events locally, independent of the host system. This
ensures system integrity even in the unlikely event of communications failure. It
also allows for quicker transaction time, since the controller does not have to wait
for an access decision from the host system.

2 Work Safety Information

set accname x Allows the name of the ACC to be configured, for example “Main Foyer”.
Double quotes have to be used to set the Name, when the new ACC name
contains spaces.
set hostip x Allows the IP address of the PC with the host software installed to be
configured.
set baudrate x Allows the baud rate of the RS-232 communications between the ACC and
the PC hosting the HyperTerminal software to be changed.
set defaults Allows the standard ACC defaults to be applied. The defaults are:
ACC Name: ACC
IP Address: 192.168.1.250
IP Port: 4343
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 0.0.0.0 (disabled)
Host IP: 0.0.0.0 (disabled) Port 4343
Baud rate: 9600

set subnet* x Allows the IP address of the subnet to be configured.
get status Displays the settings configured for the ACC.

Note
An “x” in the above table represents the data to be entered, for example an IP
address or a name.
A * next to the command means that the ACC needs to be reset in order for the
changes to take effect.
The following displays a typical entry of a command into the HyperTerminal
window:
set accname “Main Foyer”
Where “Main Foyer” is the name of the ACC being configured.

NOTE
In some instances, the HyperTerminal software may not be communicating with the ACC. This is
represented by a triple prompt “>>>”. Simply press the “B” key on your keyboard once to re-activate
communications with the ACC.
