The Main focus of this website is to provide information about Multiple Sclerosis is, as well as

symptoms and diagnosis, and treating it. The website focuses on treating MS with diet, exercise

and healthy behaviors. The website also provides information about improving emotional well-

being, spiritual well-being, cognitive health, relationships, and work, home and leisure for people

with MS.

How It Relates to PE/APE/Fitness

The content on this website relates to physical education and adapted physical education because

it provides many different exercises for individuals with MS. The website covers exercises to

improve strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, Relaxation, balance and coordination. There

are pictures as well as many videos to refer too. There is a course for health and wellness
professionals that covers exercises, types of physical activity, the role of the fitness professional,

as well as additional resources.

Application for APE Teachers

Teachers can use the exercises on this website, along with the accommodations and

modifications each exercise. There are exercises and activities for all abilities, ambulatory and

non-ambulatory. There are exercises along with activities of daily living that individuals with

MS can do.

Opinion of the Site

There is beneficial information on this website that General PE and APE teachers could utilize

with their students. Although the Website has a lot of beneficial information regarding exercise

for individuals with MS, it does not give much information regarding applications within an

educational setting. This is probably do to the fact that symptoms of MS do not typically start to

appear until early 20’s.
